On 9 May,  H.E. Ambassador Liu Jin met with Hon. Sering Modou Njie, Minister of Defense. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the development of relations between the two countries, including exchanges and cooperation in the military field.

H.E. Ambassador Liu said that the international community is currently experiencing multiple risk challenges. H.E. President Xi Jinping has proposed  Global Security Initiative, which points the way for all countries in the world to work together to address security challenges. China is willing to deepen exchanges and cooperation with The Gambia in the field of security, support The Gambia in actively keeping regional peace and stability, and jointly promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Hon. Njie expressed his gratitude to China for its steadfast support to the development of The Gambia in various fields, said that The Gambia government is actively promoting security sector reform, and is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China to jointly promote world peace and security.
