On May 23, H.E. Ambassador Liu Jin paid a courtesy call on H.E. Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow, First Lady of The Gambia.

H.E. Ambassador Liu conveyed the cordial greetings from Professor Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, and introduced the preparations for the "Warm Children’s Hearts: a China-Africa Joint Action" African orphan caring campaign, which is jointly initiated by Professor Peng Liyuan and Organziation of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD). On the occasion of the International Children's Day, the Chinese Embassy and Chinese Medical Aid Team will go to a local shelter to conduct free medical examinations and donate love-packages, to promote the health and well-being of children in The Gambia.

H.E. Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow asked H.E. Ambassador Liu to convey her greetings to Professor Peng Liyuan, and thanked Professor Peng Liyuan for her long-term care and support for the improvement of women and children’s health in Africa, saying that the "Warm Children’s Hearts: a China-Africa Joint Action" campaign initiated by Professor Peng Liyuan is a blessing for African children, and she looks forward to attending the important event.
