On June 1, H.E. Ambassador Liu Jin accompanied H.E. First Lady of The Gambia Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow to attend “Warm Children's Hearts: a China-Africa Joint Action” at Bakoteh Shelter, donating medicine, stationery, backpacks, and food. The Chinese Medical Aid Team gave free medical examinations to more than 50 children.

H.E. Ambassador Liu said that this event, initiated by Professor Peng Liyuan and Organziation of African First Ladies for Development, aiming to promote the health and well-being of African children, reflected the friendship between China and Africa, including The Gambia. H.E. Ambassador Liu appreciated H.E. First Lady Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow's commitment to promoting the welfare of children and women, and said that China will strengthen cooperation with The Gambia in areas of health, children and women.

H.E. First Lady Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow expressed her pleasure to participate in the event initiated by Professor Peng Liyuan, wife of H.E. Chinese President Xi Jinping, on the International Children's Day. The Gambia is willing to strengthen cooperation with China to jointly promote the welfare of children in Africa.
