On June 14, H.E. Ambassador LIU Jin hosted a reception for the participants of the Seminar on Law Enforcement Personnel Capacity Building for The Gambia which was held in China in May. Hon. Minister of Interior, Mr. Sonko, PS of MOI, Mr. Tangara and all the participants of the seminar took attendance of the reception.

H.E. Ambassador LIU Jin congratulated the Gambian participants on the successful completion of their training in China and encouraged them to become participants and contributors to the friendship between China and The Gambia; he expressed gratitude to Hon. Minister Sonko and the Ministry of Interior for creating a safe environment for Chinese citizens in the Gambia and facilitating the people exchanges; the Chinese government will continue to provide various capacity building programmes for The Gambia to promote people exchanges between the two countries.

In his speech, Hon. Minister Sonko commented positively on the police training and cooperation between The Gambia and China, and thanked the Chinese government for its support to the economic and social development and security of The Gambia, especially for assisting the Ministry of Interior to carry out capacity training of the staffs, and expressed his willingness to strengthen police cooperation with the Chinese side.

The participants expressed that the seminar had deepened their understanding of China and their visit to China had achieved fruitful outcome.
