On July 26, the admission notices awarding ceremony for 2023 Chinese Government Scholarship recipients in The Gambia was held at the Chinese Embassy. Honorable Professor Pierre Gomez, Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, and Dr. Yusupha Touray, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology attended the event. 

H.E. Ambassador Liu congratulated the scholarship recipients and said that education is an important area of cooperation between China and The Gambia, as well as a bridge and bond of China-Gambia friendship. China is advancing Chinese modernization, and pursuing high-quality development. H.E. Ambassador Liu hopes that Gambian students will study hard and build talents for The Gambia's economic and social development. At the same time, he encouraged them to have a deep contact with Chinese society, and be friendship ambassadors of our two peoples. 

Hon. Minister Professor Pierre Gomez, on behalf of H.E. President Adama Barrow, thanked the Chinese government for its support to The Gambia's education development. He shared his own experience of studying and visiting in China, and suggested Gambian students to cherish the opportunity and achieve academic success.

The representative of scholarship recipients thanked the Chinese government for providing them with valuable learning opportunities and said that they would study diligently and make positive contributions to China-Gambia friendship.
