On August 11, H.E. Ambassador Liu Jin met with Hon. Baboucarr Ousmaila Joof, the Minister of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment of The Gambia, and the two sides signed an exchange of letters on China granting duty-free treatment for imported goods from The Gambia that cover 98 percent of the tariff lines. 

Both sides highly affirmed the significance of the exchange of letters to further promote economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, and indicated that the two sides shall take this as a new starting point and seize the opportunity to promote access of Gambian products, especially agricultural products, to Chinese market for the benefit of the people of the two countries. Ambassador Liu particularly welcomed the Gambian side to actively attend the CIIE to be held in November in Shanghai.
