On September 27, Chinese Embassy in The Gambia held a reception to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. H.E. Ambassador Liu Jin and his wife attended the reception, which is also attended by more than 200 guests including Ministers, National Assembly Members, Chief of Defence Staff, Mayors and Governers, Heads of Diplomatic Missions in The Gambia, and representatives of overseas Chinese.

H.E. Ambassador Liu reviewed China's great development achievements and pointed out that China's economic prospects are bright. He introduced the three major Global Initiatives of development, security, and civilization put forward by H.E. President Xi Jinping and China's latest proposals to strengthen China-Africa cooperation, emphasizing that China will uphold the concept of sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith, promote China-Gambia cooperation, and jointly build a high-level China-Africa community with a shared futurein the New Era .

On behalf of The Gambian Government, Hon. Ebrima Sillah, Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure thanked China for supporting The Gambia's development, reaffirming that The Gambia will uphold the one-China principle and continue to develop bilateral relations on the basis of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.

The guests watched the photo exhibition and short video on China-Gambia cooperation. H.E. Ambassador Liu and the heads of Chinese institutions toasted for the friendship between China and The Gambia.
