On January 14th, the Chinese Embassy in the Gambia held the kick-off event of the “China-Gambia Bantaba”, inviting Gambian journalists who participated in previous China International Press Communication Center programs to share their experiences. H.E. Ambassador Liu Jin, Hon. Minister of Information Ismaila Ceesay, Director General of the Gambian Radio and Television Service Abdoulie Sey, Director General of QTV Malick Kah, representatives of major Gambian media, teachers and students from middle schools attended the event.
H.E. Ambassador Liu expained that the “China-Gambia Bantaba” is initiated to build an interactive exchange platform for people from both countries, and to promote the implementation of the outcomes of the 2024 FOCAC Beijing Summit and the Partnership Action for People-to-People Exchanges. The media serves as a bridge for China-Gambia friendship. He hoped that Gambian media professionals would make good use of the important platform of the CIPCC, expand media exchanges and cooperation, and promote China-Gambia friendship.
Gambian participants expressed their gratitude to China for helping Gambian media development through CIPCC program. They expressed the willingness to deepen cooperation with China’s media, exchange and learn from each other's media development experience, and contribute to China-Gambia friendship.
After the panelist discussion, journalists answered questions raised by middle school students present.
