To further facilitate Chinese visa application, fingerprint collection is exempted at Chinese Embassy in The Gambia for all short-term visa applicants ( staying in China for 180 days or less) from 17 December 2025 to 31 December 2026.

Fingerprint collection is still required for applicants of D, J1, Q1, S1, X1 and Z visas, which require the applicants to apply for residence permits after entry to China in accordance with relevant regulations.
