On September 30, the Chinese Embassy in The Gambia held a reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. H.E. Ambassador Liu Jin and around 500 guests attended the reception, including Hon. Chief Justice Hassan Bubacar Jallow, Cabinet Ministers, National Assembly Members, Chief of Defence Staff, Heads of Diplomatic Missions in The Gambia, Gambian friends from all walks of life, and representatives of overseas Chinese.

H.E. Ambassador Liu Jin reviewed the great development achievements made since the founding of the People's Republic of China and the fruitful cooperation between China and The Gambia over the past year, and introduced the Global Governance Initiative. He emphasized that China will always hold high the banner of multilateralism and uphold international fairness and justice. Under the strategic guidance of H.E. President Xi Jinping and H.E. President Adama Barrow, China will work closely with The Gambia to enrich the strategic partnership. He announced that The Chinese Embassy in The Gambia will officially launch consular visa services on October 7.

On behalf of The Gambian Government, Hon. Abdoulie Sanyang, Minister of Interior made remarks expressing his admiration for China's achievements in economic and social development, reaffirming that The Gambia will uphold the one-China principle, and emphasizing that The Gambia is willing to continuously deepen practical cooperation with China in various fields.

The Gambia Kung Fu Wushu Federation, Gambian musicians and Flex Fuzion performed wonderful shows at the reception.
