On 18 November, the first overseas training program on medical and health management held in The Gambia concluded successfully. Chinese Ambassador Liu Jin, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health Dr. Yusupha Touray, and other officials attended the closing ceremony and presented certificates to the participants.

The 30-day program brought together 53 Gambian trainees from major medical institutions across the country. A team of experts from Xiyuan Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences delivered a structured curriculum covering hospital development and management, as well as traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment.
Ambassador Liu Jin noted that healthcare is one of the priorities of the China-Gambia cooperation, and that this overseas training program further enriches bilateral engagement. He encouraged the participants to serve as bridges between the two countries in advancing medical cooperation.
Permanent Secretary Touray expressed appreciation for China’s longstanding support to The Gambia’s health sector and looked forward to strengthening collaboration in both the theory and practice of traditional medicine.
