On February 6, the Chinese Embassy in The Gambia hosted a China-Gambia Spring Festival Bantaba. People from cultural and sports circles of The Gambia gathered for exchanges on Chinese Spring Festival customs and the folk cultures of the two countries, jointly promoting mutual learning between civilizations and deepening China-Gambia friendship.

Counsellor Zhao Shangsen stated that the Spring Festival is the most grand traditional festival of the Chinese nation. As 2026 marks the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, he hoped to take this event as an opportunity to further build a bridge for mutual understanding and affinity between the Chinese and Gambian peoples.

At 5:00 p.m. on February 14, the Chinese Kung Fu Wush Championship & Spring Festival Celebration event sponsored by the Chinese Embassy, will officially take place at Serrekunda East Mini Stadium in The Gambia. Friends from all walks of life are sincerely invited to attend this Spring Festival gala that embodies China-Gambia friendship and showcases the allure of culture.
